There are Many Kinds - And One is Even Sold in Regular Stores!

Cannabis Infusion
There is a coffee company that is selling 'Cannabis Conditioned' coffee - and its legal!  They have developed a process of infusing the taste & odor of Marijuana into green coffee beans; the roasting process removes the THC, so the resulting coffee has the smell of Cannabis but no psychotropic effects.  That means its legal to sell in the whole USA.  The owner calls the process, "Herb Conditioning".  To learn more, read this article, and buy it at Compelling & Rich.

There are however many more options for coffee and Marijuana.
NOTE: We are not promoting the use of Marijuana.    That is a personal decision; check if it is legal in your state first!

There is a new bottled beverage from a company in Washington State called Mirth Provisions, a cold-brewed coffee with actual Cannabis infused.  The brand name is called Legal, and the motto is "Wake and Bake".  Each bottle has about 20 mg of THC, which is a moderate amount - and of course, caffeine (and any sugar you choose to add).  A triple whammy!  Mirth also has Cannabis-infused juices such as sparkling cherry, lemon ginger and pomegranate.  Each bottle of Legal will cost $9 to $11 - if it eventually gets regulatory approval.

Long History of Combining Coffee with Other Psycoactives

People have been combining coffee and other herbs for centuries.  It was common in the coffee houses of Europe.  In the 1800's, people regularly stayed up very late, often artists by nature, discussing their work, and drinking coffee sprinkled with crumbled Hashish.   In the last few years, it is more common to find Organic Marijuana, and Organic, Non-GMO coffees; the idea being, to get the most health benefits possible - while enjoying a rather potent brew.  In a recent study of hospital patients who were using Marijuana for pain reduction, almost 50% preferred Organic Marijuana.

You can now buy Marijuana-infused coffee pods!  One company doing this is Catapult.  They call a coffeepod with Marijuana-infused coffee, meaning it is real Marijuana.  This is not legal in all US states.  These coffee pods are similar to K-Cups and might be compatible in your brewer.  You can order them from Catapult.

Coffee and Marijuana Have a Complicated Relationship

It turns out that coffee stimulates several parts of the brain, and appears to include areas that are also stimulated by Marijuana. Small amounts of coffee might even help someone reduce a dependence on Marijuana; but large amounts of caffeine can intensify the effects of Marijuana and make someone even more dependent.  The bottom line, like always, is moderation!  To read more about the interplay of caffeine and THC in the brain, click here.

In addition, you can actually brew your own 'Cannabis Coffee'.  NOTE: Only do this if it is legal where you live.  Here are some general directions.  Its not hard to do; but do not do this unless you are experienced.  Since Caffeine can increase the effects of Cannabis, we do not recommend this recipe to anyone unless they are experienced with Marijuana!

To make Cannabis-infused coffee:

1. Prepare these ingredients:
  • 1/4 oz ground marijuana buds
  • 8 Tbsp. ground coffee
  • sweetener to taste
  • cream or milk to taste

This will make four regular cups of coffee.

2. Brewing Directions:
  • Combine marijuana with coffee ground, and then brew using your regular coffee brewing method
  • Add cream, milk, and/or sweeteners as desired
  • Works with conventional coffeemakers, Turkish coffee pots, French presses, pour-overs, and drip-style methods

Another company selling THC Coffee is House of Jane.   They have several varieties, and are considering THC-infused Coffee Creamers.  That would be interesting!   They also sell over 1,000 bags of Marijuana-infused tea, every day.

You can find out more simply by searching Google for terms like Marijuana-infused, Marijuana-Conditioned, Marijuana Coffee, and so on.  Its a very interesting time that we live in.  You can also research 'Marijuana Edibles' to find an amazing array of recipes.
