Once you have subscribed to Panera's new monthly coffee membership, you can get coffee, iced coffee, or hot tea every two hours; all day. Coffee refills can be done any time. They have several coffee flavors brewed, and decaf.
$9 sounds like such a great deal - you would think Panera's would lose money. But many customers do order other things, and laptop users who stay longer might get hungry. Plus you can now order right from your table, and they bring it to you - you dont have to go get in line just to get a sandwich.

The Downside: Panera Drip Coffee is Not Very Good
Of course it depends on personal taste, but we find Panera's coffee to be of poor quality. You can get a better cup of coffee even at Burger King (BK also has a coffee subscription and theirs is only $5/mo, but its limited to one cup of coffee per day). It is disappointing, and Panera could really do so much better; and their food is good. It just does not feel like Panera is committed to good tasting coffee, and thus they make it really inexpensive.
Perhaps if enough people signup, and give Panera feedback, they can improve their drip coffee.
